The Bell Tolls For Canada

JULY 1,2006

"DO NOT ASK FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS", O CANADA. "IT TOLLS FOR THEE".

There is no joy this July 1, 2006. To call it Canada Day is now a sad hypocrisy. That is because all the Members of Parliament (and our M.L.A.'s) are complicit in the unfolding transformation of Canada (without Canadians' informed consent) from a sovereign nation, independent and free to a part of a new entity in a North American Union stripped of civil liberties and ruled by corporate greed.

Launched under International Trade in a format of "Free Trade" Agreements, the transformation is almost completed economically, and is in high gear now in the fields of Defence, Justice, Immigration, Health, and Foreign Affairs. A Bi-national Planning Committee is in high gear integrating Canada and the USA militarily. Various committees are in high gear implementing two nation-breaking agreements, both of which adopted the agenda and direction of the Chief Executive Officers of the elite corporations of North America all driven by a powerful world elite.

The first of the nation-breaking agreements is the Smart Border Declaration of December 2001 under the Liberals signed by John Manley as Deputy Prime Minister and Tom Ridge of the USA Homeland Security Department. From this agreement flowed an integrated immigration and border control, and most importantly, anti-terrorist legislation that began the legal, judicial and policing integration of Canada with the USA removing civil liberties. This was accomplished via what appears to be the gravest travesty of justice in North America, namely the deception surrounding the destruction of the Twin Towers in New York, September 11, 2001. Canada has failed to demand a proper and full inquiry, submitting instead to the highly questionable official U.S. position, which numerous respectable authorities now assert is verifiably wrong.

The second is the Security and Prosperity Partnership Agreement signed by the Liberals under Paul Martin in May of 2005 with George Bush of the USA and President Fox of Mexico. The goal is total North American integration by year 2010. David Emerson, the only re-elected one of the three senior Liberal Ministers responsible for piloting the implementation of the North American Union under the Paul Martin government, moved comfortably over to a Senior Conservative Cabinet position under Harper to continue the job.

In March 2006 Prime Minister Stephen Harper met with Mexico's President Fox and U.S. President Bush in Cancun Mexico to escalate the integration of the three nations into one corporate driven block. They launched the North American Competitiveness Council.

See:

http://www.pm.gc.ca/eng/media.asp?id=1200

"The Council comprises 30 senior private sector representatives, 10 from each country, and has a mandate to provide governments with recommendations on broad issues such as border facilitation and regulation, as well as the competitiveness of key sectors including automotive, transportation, manufacturing and services. The Council will meet annually with security and prosperity ministers and will engage with senior government officials on an ongoing basis. The Competitiveness Council is an initiative of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America.".

On June 13th 2006 Prime Minister Harper announced the Canadian membership of North American Competitiveness Council. "The Canadian members of the Competitiveness Council are Dominic D''Alessandro (Manulife Financial); Paul Desmarais, Jr. (Power Corporation of Canada); David Ganong (Ganong Bros. Limited); Richard George (Suncor Energy Inc.); Hunter Harrison (CN); Linda Hasenfratz (Linamar Corporation); Michael Sabia (Bell Canada Enterprises); Jim Shepherd (Canfor Corporation); Annette Verschuren (The Home Depot); and Rick Waugh (Scotiabank)."

""I am delighted that these accomplished individuals have agreed to apply their considerable private sector expertise to help us identify and pursue initiatives that will create a more competitive North America,"" said the Prime Minister.

First, Paul Martin's Liberal led minority government sustained by the NDP, and now Stephen Harper's Conservative led minority government sustained by the Bloq Quebecois have rung the death knell for the Public Interest and the Public Good. Two elections, 2004 and 2006, held in the middle of this transformation saw not one of the main stream parties, nor any mainstream media profile this death dance. And still, they are silent!

It was Mussolini who equated Corporatism with Fascism. The leading lights directing current government come from the corporate world - a world with no soul, no heart, no morality, no conscience, no justice.

But, be still O Canada, my Canada. There are many who will not "go silent into this night".

We join hands in common chorus and direction with those of the USA and Mexico who champion the interest and life-force of humanity. We salute and celebrate the universal truths of justice, liberty, and equality which bedeck the path forward to independence and sovereignty.

BONUS: Lou Dobbs from CNN is a Conservative, but he's also scared...

BLOGGED BY Brad ON 6/13/2006 8:19PM

VIDEO - Lou Dobbs: 'Doubts About E-Vote Accuracy, Integrity Threaten to Undermine Democracy'

CNN Anchor Files 6th Report, in As Many Days, on Electronic Voting Machines: 'Democracy for Sale'

Yesterday, Lou Dobbs did his 6th straight report on the dangers of E-Voting. Today he did his 7th report in a row, we hope to have that for you tomorrow.

In yesterday's report, Dobbs introduced it by describing the "rising doubts" about Electronic Voting Machines and said those doubts "about their accuracy and integrity threaten to undermine confidence in our democracy." Right on, Lou.

The report even quotes from last year's landmark GAO report on Electronic Voting, broken here last October, and unreported by CNN (or virtually anyone else in the media) at all until yesterday! (See the graphic at upper right)

Attorney Lowell Finley of VoterAction.org, the non-partisan group filing lawsuits to stop these systems around the country, is quoted as saying, "The real danger with electronic voting is with insider fraud, who just need a few minutes of access to a voting machine or to a tabulating computer and they can wreak havoc."

Dobbs closed the segment yesterday, incredulously, with this:

DOBBS: This is — this is becoming a very, very troubling exercise in that we have people defending results who can't even defend the process or the technology because it's proprietary and it's not being shared. And therefore, it's not auditable…And without that ability, how do you conduct a recount reliably and transparently?

We'll have a report on one of those "people defending results," Michael Haas, the Registrar of Voters in San Diego County, where the results of the 50th Congressional district U.S. House race have been corrupted by his cavalier lack of concern about the security of Diebold voting systems used in the race. He seems to have no concerns, as Finley mentioned, about "insider fraud," or of the concept that "a few minutes of access to a voting machine…can wreak havoc." More on that tomorrow.

The video of Dobbs' 6th report in a row (compliments of David Edwards, natch) is linked below:

THE NEW WORLD DISORDER

U.S.-Mexico merger opposition intensifies

Some see secret efforts to scrap dollar, end U.S. sovereignty, combine nations

Posted: July 9, 2006
11:59 p.m. Eastern

By Joseph Farah
© 2006 WorldNetDaily.com

WASHINGTON – Are secret meetings being held between the corporate and political elites of the U.S., Mexico and Canada to push North America into a European Union-style merger?

Is President Bush's reluctance to control the border and enforce laws requiring deportation of foreigners who enter the country illegally part of a master plan to all but eliminate borders between the U.S., Canada and Mexico?

Does the agenda of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America include a common currency that would scrap the dollar in favor of what some are calling the "amero"?

It may be the biggest story of the 21st century, but few press outlets are telling it. In fact, until very recently, few in the U.S. were aware of the plans and even fewer denouncing what appears to be the implementation of an effort some have characterized as "NAFTA on steroids."

But opposition is mounting.

Perhaps the most blistering criticism has come from Lou Dobbs of CNN – a frequent critic of Bush's immigration policies.

"A regional prosperity and security program?" he asked rhetorically in a recent cablecast. "This is absolute ignorance. And the fact that we are -- we reported this, we should point out, when it was signed. But, as we watch this thing progress, these working groups are continuing. They're intensifying. What in the world are these people thinking about? You know, I was asked the other day about whether or not I really thought the American people had the stomach to stand up and stop this nonsense, this direction from a group of elites, an absolute contravention of our law, of our Constitution, every national value. And I hope, I pray that I'm right when I said yes. But this is -- I mean, this is beyond belief."

What has Dobbs and a few other vocal critics bugged began in earnest March 31, 2005, when the elected leaders of the U.S., Mexico and Canada agreed to advance the agenda of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America.

No one seems quite certain what that agenda is because of the vagueness of the official declarations. But among the things the leaders of the three countries agreed to work toward were borders that would allow for easier and faster moving of goods and people between the countries.

Coming as the announcement did in the midst of a raging national debate in the U.S. over borders seen as far to open already, more than a few jaws dropped.

Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo. and the chairman of the House Immigration Reform Caucus as well as author of the new book, "In Mortal Danger," may be the only elected official to challenge openly the plans for the new superstate.

Responding to a WorldNetDaily report, Tancredo is demanding the Bush administration fully disclose the activities of the government office implementing the trilateral agreement that has no authorization from Congress.

Tancredo wants to know the membership of the Security and Prosperity Partnership groups along with their various trilateral memoranda of understanding and other agreements reached with counterparts in Mexico and Canada.

Jim Gilchrist, co-founder of the Minutemen, welcomed Tancredo's efforts.

"It's time for the Bush administration to come clean," Gilchrist said. "If President Bush's agenda is to establish a new North American union government to supersede the sovereignty of the United States, then the president has an obligation to tell this to the American people directly. The American public has a right to know."

Geri Word, who heads the SPP office, told WND the work had not been disclosed because, "We did not want to get the contact people of the working groups distracted by calls from the public."

WND can find no specific congressional legislation authorizing the SPP working groups nor any congressional committees taking charge of oversight.

Many SPP working groups appear to be working toward achieving specific objectives as defined by a May 2005 Council on Foreign Relations task force report, which presented a blueprint for expanding the SPP agreement into a North American union that would merge the U.S., Canada and Mexico into a new governmental form.

9/11 'revisionist' allowed to teach

Al Jazeera | July 11, 2006

An instructor at the University of Wisconsin who has said he believes US officials orchestrated the September 11, 2001 attacks, will be allowed to teach a course on Islam.

Some state politicians had called for the University of Wisconsin-Madison to fire Kevin Barrett, a part-time instructor, after he spoke about his theories on a radio talk show last month.

The university provost, Patrick Farrell, said in a statement late on Monday: "We cannot allow political pressure from critics of unpopular ideas to inhibit the free exchange of ideas.

"To the extent that his views are discussed, Mr Barrett has assured me that students will be free and encouraged to challenge his viewpoint."

Barrett can present his view as one of many perspectives on the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington DC when he teaches Islam: Religion and Culture this fall, Farrell said.

Farrell began a review after Barrett said he believed the attacks were the result of a conspiracy designed to cause war in the Middle East.

Barrett said he was happy the school "did the right thing".

"This university is a pretty professional organisation that is not going to buckle from political pressure from politicians," he said.

Criticism

Politicians who had called for Barrett's dismissal criticised the decision.

Matt Canter, a spokesman for the governor, Jim Doyle, said: "The governor would have come to a different conclusion about this."

Steve Nass, a state representative, said he would push next year for cuts to the university's budget.

The university does not endorse Barrett's theories, Farrell said, noting that they are widely believed in parts of the Muslim world.

9/11 Icon Bill Doyle Openly Condemns US Government Complicity and Cover-up

9/11 Commission

Relentless 9/11 activist Bill Doyle, father of Joey Doyle, set up the first email communication network for 9/11 families, which now connects over 7,000 victim relatives. He is also a co-founder of 9/11 Families for a Secure America and a lead plaintiff in the trillion dollar "Saudi suit" filed by 9/11 Families United to Bankrupt Terrorism. Having to deal and maintain trust with the entire political spectrum of 9/11 kin, Bill has naturally been reluctant to take his own thoughts public, but Friday, July 6th, on the Alex Jones Show Bill finally outed his highly accusatory personal opinions on the 9/11 cover-up, government complicity, and the fact that perhaps half of his family network now feels the same way. - Ed.

Right now there is no transcript, just the mp3 audio file here, but here are a few quotes from the interview transcribed by the intrepid 911blogger and Alex's webmaster:

Jones: Sir you have questions about the official story don't you?

Doyle: Oh, without question... the 9/11 Commission - that's all a fallacy... The 9/11 commission is probably the worst representation of the 9/11 families, or for that matter the American public, because it is a sham, it really is. We had tons of questions that we asked them to ask, they wouldn't do it, and the continuing coverup is just beyond belief.

Mule festival listed as Al-Qa'eda target: "The 77,000-item list was compiled by the much-criticised Department of Homeland Security."

The London telegraph / Infowars.com

Mule festival listed as Al-Qa'eda target

Francis Harris / London Telegraph | July 13 2006

Al-Qa'eda is planning to attack a mule festival, ice-cream parlours, a kangaroo conservation centre and "a beach at the end of a street", according to America's latest list of terrorist targets.

The 77,000-item list was compiled by the much-criticised Department of Homeland Security.

An audit by the department's inspector general said that 11,000 of the sites met the required level of a target of national significance and that 32,000 did not. The importance of the rest was unclear.

The department asked state authorities to identify which sites "if attacked would result in catastrophic loss of life and/or catastrophic economic loss".

But the guidelines issued by officials were so unclear that the 50 states often failed to understand what the department required. While some gave the names and addresses of potential targets, others simply provided general information such as "school" and "restaurant".
Among the supposed targets were the American society of young musicians, a bourbon festival, an insect zoo, Old McDonald's petting zoo, a shop called Amish County Popcorn and a theological seminary.

According to the current issue of Mother Jones:

* One in four U.S. jobs pays less than a poverty-level income.

* Since 2000, the number of Americans living below the poverty line at any one time has risen steadily. Now, 13 percent -- 37 million Americans -- are officially poor.

* Bush's tax cuts (extended until 2010) save those earning between $20,000 and $30,000 an average of $10 a year, while those making $1 million are saved $42,700.

* In 2002, Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, compared those who point out such statistics as the one above to Adolph Hitler (surely he meant Stalin?).

* Bush has diverted $750 million to "healthy marriages" by shifting funds from social services, mostly childcare.

* Bush has proposed cutting housing programs for low-income people with disabilities by 50 percent.

* A series of related stats -- starting with the news that two out of three new jobs are in the suburbs -- shows how the poor are further disadvantaged in the job hunt by lack of public or private transportation.

Meanwhile, for those who have been following the collapse of the pension system, please note a series in The Wall Street Journal by Ellen Schultz taking a hard look at executive pension obligations:

* "Benefits for executives now account for a significant share of pension obligations in the United States, an average of 8 percent (of large companies). Sometimes a company's obligation for a single executive's pension approaches $100 million."

* "These liabilities are largely hidden, because corporations don't distinguish them from overall pension obligations in their federal financial findings."

* "As a result, the savings that companies make by curtailing pensions of regular retirees -- which have totaled billions of dollars in recent years -- can mask a rising cost of benefits for executives."

* "Executive pensions, even when they won't be paid until years from now, drag down the earnings today. And they do so in a way that's disproportionate to their size, because they aren't funded with dedicated assets."

"Judge not by appearances, but judge righteous judgment."

"to me it's at it's most basic a "free speech" issue, and a healthy barometer of whether we have it or not."

Cool man,

I know you got my back and support the rights of guys like us to do this, to me it's at it's most basic a "free speech" issue, and a healthy barometer of whether we have it or not.

It's just when it comes to the particulars (e.g. "Sure Bush is bad but 9/11 wasn't faked") then I'm just going to say my peace like anyone else making a correction. I'd do the same with some misconceptions about Hinduism like you would about [--]ism, but beyond that I'm afraid what I "believe" (I'd say "know") means we're in a crapload of trouble.

I think the Bombay bombings were faked just now so they could ramp up their police state policies - as is happening worldwide with bombing and subsequent "free speech zones" and such. I think a lot of the violence in T-Dot is faked too, as my producer and street sources tell me: why would they want the heat? How come cats real deep in the game don't know what's going on? Sure there's a few true psycho's with a death-wish out there, but it's too easy to lay the stereotype on "young black men".

I've gotta say I saw the "soccer hooliganism" in Germany, and when black people act like that - they shoot 'em.

(Google Video and watch "TerrorStorm" if you want, it's got a great academic history of the MI-5/CIA faking terror for "Operation Ajax" in Iran in 1954 to overthrow the democratically elected and pro-West leader Mossadeq after he nationalized their oil fields and upset British Petroleum. They celebrated their wildly successful venture by repeating the same tactic in dozens of countries, and with "Operation Northwoods" they were going to do it in the U.S. too to get the public to support a war with Cuba. All this was independently confirmed by a poli-sci PhD to a friend at his party on the weekend, and I confirmed it as well by doing a search at cia.gov to prove it to another buddy too...)

As for what turns people "on" and "off", well, that's a matter of taste I suppose.

I mean, we can scream and yell about tabloid-y stuff all the time ("I hate Paris Hilton!", or have heated arguments about sports ("We wuz robbed!"), but as soon as I yell "Torturers!" when I'm discussing torturers then I'm a bad guy - which I disagree with.

Personally I think the mainsteam media is softening us by hiding or "normalizing" a lot of horrible and more importantly rapidly worsening stuff, and so cries of "This is bad!" by activists everywhere are turning people off who're not used to "bad" things being called "bad" anymore. The news is also depressingly fatalistic by lacking in any substance, context, or hope by not showing anybody trying to make a difference - and ignoring literally millions of options, that people are turning off and forgetting to check back, or failing look for alternative and more fulfilling news sources.

But going all "Oprah" ain't gonna fix things either... so who knows what works?

We had Bob (both Dylan and Marley) and a bunch of others and we still didn't learn sh-t, so I'm stealing from everybody and making my own lane...

Besides: Gandhi was a wimp, Martin was a wimp, Malcolm was crazy, and on and on and on...

Later, they were cool...

And Denis Leary is similar to Dennis Miller - a right wing hack. He's a pro-war pro-torture pro-America fool who can still be smart and funny, but make no mistake - his "I can make a nickel bashing Bush too - I just don't feel like it!" shpiel is just a right-wing "talking point" to further discredit us activists, and to get people to avoid looking at just how badly Bush is sodomizing the world and our civil rights. Of course, we're just all out to make a buck, sure. With no mass media support, no talk shows, no mainstream radio and no Oprah, this is the surefire way to do it...

Alex Jones is crazy... and later, if we "win" (and that means the rest of us too), then he'll be recognized for what he is: the guy who pushed "9/11 was an inside job meant to scare the hell out of us and speed up the creation of a global police state!" further than anyone else, and thus a "hero".

I don't agree with 100% of what he says, but I don't agree 100% with anyone, including G-d, my family, my friends, or anyone else who's hella smart. I think he's on to something and works incredibly hard for relatively little recognition despite numerous credible politicians (Congressman Ron Paul, etc.), journalists (Greg Palast, etc.), activists (Cindy Sheehan, etc.), ex-military and intelligence (Ray McGovern, etc.) and hundreds of others supporting him. Either way, it's important enough for me to tell people to pay attention (no really) and then make up their own minds...

There's "rabid" and there's "real", and when I'm getting appropriately "rabid" you'd best believe that I believe it's for a "real" reason.

It's cool, this album is breaking down the hardcore specifics for those strapped on time (e.g. "fake terror"), and I'm condensing 2 week reads, 2 hour movies, and 2000 word blogs into 3 minute songs. It's meant to change your life, but not everything works on everybody, so I'm cool with just moving cats along a little bit at a time until it really looks like we'll lose everything... then I gotta bizz-ounce.

Good luck with the prep meng, I know it's a hella big deal and you'll make sure we have a hella good time. And don't worry about "Vij" anyway, he went to India a couple of years ago, remember? He's chillin' eatin' dosa's and watching "The Mahabarata: Special Edition" on a burned DVD somewhere while getting fat on a couch, but don't worry, he'll be back to play with the kiddies in a minit... ;)

Cheers,
BK

Bombay train blasts described as bombings

By RAMOLA TALWAR BADAM, Associated Press Writer

BOMBAY, India - Seven explosions rocked Bombay's commuter rail network during Tuesday evening rush hour, killing as many as 100 people, police said. India's major cities were put on high alert after the blasts, which an Indian official said were caused by bombings.

There was chaos throughout Bombay's crowded rail network following the explosions, and authorities struggled to determine how many people had been killed and injured.

Bombay Police Chief A.N. Roy said on Indian television that an estimated 100 people were killed and more than 250 were injured.

"We are busy in the rescue operation. Our first priority is to rescue the injured people," he said. However, heavy monsoon downpours were hampering the effort.

Police were also reportedly carrying out raids across the country following the explosions, presumably in search of suspects. One television report said a suspect was in custody.

A senior Bombay police official, P.S. Pasricha, said the explosions were part of a well-coordinated attack. The country's home minister told Indian television that authorities had information that an attack was coming but did not know the time or place.

Witnesses reported seeing body parts strewn about stations, and Indian television news channels broadcast footage of bystanders carrying victims to ambulances and searching through the wreckage for survivors and bodies. Some of the injured were seen frantically dialing their cell phones.

The force of the blasts ripped doors and windows off carriages, and luggage and debris were strewn about, splattered with blood. Survivors were seen clutching bloody bandages to their heads and faces. Some were able to get up and walk from the station on their own.

Pranay Prabhakar, the spokesman for the Western Railway, confirmed that seven blasts had taken place. He said all trains had been suspended in Bombay, and he appealed to the public to stay away from the train stations of the city of 16 million, India's financial and commercial center and principal port on the Arabian sea.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but the blasts came in quick succession — a common tactic employed by Kashmiri militants that have repeatedly targeted India's cities.

The first explosion hit the train at a railway station in the northwestern suburb of Khar, said a police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media.

India's CNN-IBN television news, which had a reporter traveling on the train, said the blast took place in a first-class car as the train was moving, ripping through the compartment and killing more than a dozen people

The Press Trust of India, citing railway officials, said all the blasts had hit first-class cars.

All of India's major cities were reportedly on high alert following the attacks, which came hours after a series of grenade attacks by Islamic extremists killed eight people in the main city of India's part of Kashmir.

Kashmir was divided between India and Pakistan in war after they gained independence from Britain in 1947, and they fought another full-scale conflict over the region in 1965.

Dozens of militant groups have been fighting Indian rule in Kashmir, demanding the mostly Muslim region's independence, or its merger with Pakistan.

India accuses Pakistan of aiding the militants, who run training camps on Pakistan's of Kashmir. Pakistan denies the charge.

After coming close to fighting a fourth war in 2002, Pakistan and India embarked on a peace process aimed at resolving their differences, including their conflicting claims to all of Jammu-Kashmir.
