Since thousands of people across Canada and hundreds in the Toronto area came out in the cold on February 16th to question why the SPP.Gov / Security and Prosperity Partnership is creating a North American Union out of Canada, America and Mexico without our permission, it seems reasonable that in the warm weather 1000 people would politely drop-off 1000 flyers each on April 19th to instantly make it a city-wide topic of conversation and wake people to the issue.

The next stage is local groups taking copies and their own versions of the New Denver, B.C. anti-SPP motion (co-sponsored by NDP MP Alex Atamenko) to local City of Toronto elected officials and demanding they act on it while proving they know about it for the future:

The next stage - if they don't act immediately - is independently campaigning against them with as many candidates per-position as possible. We can find out and show others what local officials can do to help stop the SPP, like ask questions or open investigations. This may include running for Federal MP for the Canadian Action Party, the most consistent and vocal opponent of the SPP agreement:

Regardless of what position you run for or how, this gives everyone an excuse to get more active locally and network nationally (more details to come) while elevating the political discourse in ways people respect by running for office. Don't worry about whether an election has been called yet, just explain to people that as an independent candidate you might not get the media coverage others will and need to start early.

Info-Bomb on April 19th, black and white copies of flyers can be printed for $0.06 cents a copy ($0.03 cents per side) on 8.5" x 11" pages at 3-Cent Copy on the west side of Spadina just south of Bloor (or wherever). The SPP issue is as simple as the sequel to NAFTA or as complex as radically changing the rules regarding everything, so many interpretations are welcome.

People or groups are invited to email preferences as to where they'd like to drop information off in advance or check-in between 1 - 2 pm on Saturday, April 19th at Dundas Square (Yonge and Dundas, south-west corner). We'll have buckets of flyers available for those unable to print their own or who want more, so bring a backpack or a big and comfy bag.

You can grab flyers, sign-up to a neighbourhood and hop on the subway to spend a couple of hours walking around and dropping them off at homes, apartments and businesses. Most places will let you leave a few flyers if you let them know it's just for a few weeks until the rally on May 17th (details to come). After that we can meet at The Madison Pub one-block east of Spadina and one-block north of Bloor to relax and celebrate our efforts.
